The location Like most of Flint, the Rosemont area has seen better days. One certainly hopes so, anyway.
The catch Flint Journal columnist Marlon Vaughn describes Ruth Avenue: "That 'mess' includes unsalvageable abandoned houses that sit and rot for years. It also includes vacant lots dense with neck-high weeds and tons of garbage. And it includes the 15-minute minimum drive [resident Mary Crandall] must make to get to anything resembling a decent grocery store."
