Promises made, promises reiterated

I must say I was surprised, and a little heartened, to see this:

Prime Minister Paul Martin insisted yesterday he will keep his promise to call a federal election within 30 days of the final report into the sponsorship scandal expected later this year.

"I made a very clear commitment. It's 30 days," the prime minister said.

"It's not 30 days this kind of days or 30 days that kind of days. It's 30 days after Mr. Justice (John) Gomery's final report."

Very well then, sir. That's the best news you've delivered since… well, ever. May your own ass be served to you on a platter, as it should have been in May.
