Lemon calls grape sour

After calling second-guessing of Team Canada's roster choices "no more than sour grapes", Mark Spector gets his obligatory shot in at "…Bryan McCabe, who let down all those Maple Leaf loyalists who brayed him on to the team, disproving their assessment that he can play at this level." Forget how McCabe played (I didn't think he looked out of place, for whatever that's worth on a team where Chris Pronger looked god-awful). Mark Spector is saying that the NHL's leading scorer among defensemen made the team purely because Leafs fans wouldn't shut up about him.

That's quite an indictment of Wayne Gretzky, wouldn't you say?

Keep trying, Mark, by all means. Some day I'm sure McCabe will do something awful enough to prove that you were actually right — that the Leafs should have bought out McCabe's contract last summer.
