New and improved
Maybe I'm overthinking, but I wouldn't use an image of two fictional male characters, portrayed by actors who are both now dead, to illustrate a story about how Canadians are now living longer.
But that's just me.

Especially since neither man lived to see his 80th birthday!

Two more points, one small, the other a little more important...
First, they ain't Canadians. Neither the actors nor the characters they played. But the story is about Canadian males, which means the photo is, as an illustration, about as helpful as a shot of octogenarian Swedes on skis or ancient Tibetan monks meditating in a cave.
Somewhat more seriously... This is a story about people living longer. It's about people not dying. It is, in another words, news as good as it comes. And yet, look at how long it took the reporter to blow right past such trivialities -- fewer corpses, etc. -- to get to the horrible, black, negative reality lurking within: By God, it could ruin the health system!
If it were in The Onion, it would be hilarious.
